Responsible Doctor Reallocations

Due to recent changes in GP staffing, Doctors leaving and new Doctors starting, we are going through an exercise of reallocating GPs to patients.

What does this mean for patients?

It is possible that we are changing the GP normally responsible for your care. All of our GPs work to the same high standard so we are not expecting a change in the level of care you receive. This also does not effect you seeing any other member of clinical staffing such as nurses or healthcare assistants.

Can I still request to see a specific person when putting in an askmyGP request?

Yes, absolutely.

I was happy with my GP, do I have to change?

Unfortunately, yes. We want to ensure that the workload on our GPs is equally shared between them and this helps us make sure patients get the same level of access to a GP, or any other clinician for that matter.

Will you notify me of the change?

If you have not had an appointment in the last three years then we will make the change in the background and we are confident you will not notice much difference

If you have an appointment recently; at least one in the last three years, then we will notify you of the change.

When will this happen?

We have started making the changes already and are planning for this project to conclude by the end of the Summer.
